Kitchen Island Chairs & Barstools
As we have discussed in many other blog posts, the kitchen remains the center of the home especially if you have a kitchen island. If you are anything like our home, we sit at the island for everything, work, dinner, and when we host, we are centered around the kitchen island. Knowing there was going to be so much use out of our island, I wanted to ensure we had kitchen island chairs or barstools that offered comfort but remained part of the modern organic design in the rest of the home. I could not find the exact barstools we have in our home, but linked a similar option here.
My FAVORITE look right now, are these gorgeous Nathan James barstools found on Wayfair in options of single, 2, or a 4 pack. They are functional since they are faux leather and a great option that is stylish yet kid friendly.
Distance between Kitchen Island Chairs
As a tip, I usually recommend 6-8 inches (up to 10 inches) distance between each barstool at your kitchen island. You never want the island to look overpacked and you also do not want the opposite of it not looking ‘finished’ or bare. Many options that I have shown below come in sets of 2, and 4, but are also sold individually, making it easy to order the exact amount you need based on the size of your island.
Keeping it Neutral
If you are going for the modern organic look and feel for your home, the kitchen island chairs should remain neutral in color by following my guidelines. I choose pops of colors with pillows, rugs, some paint, wall decor, etc but keep majority of all the furniture a neutral color. Since the furniture pieces are the most expensive, this tends to make the most sense in general to follow this rule of thumb.
